A filmmaker native to California, he has also lived extensively in Peru and Brazil. With an upbringing and formal education in what is the cultural patchwork of Southern California, he has learned how to navigate and learn from the cultural campsites that mark contemporary American society and translate this talent into eye opening, inspiring journeys of moving image and sound.
His award winning documentaries focus on strong communities and the nature of the individuals that hold them together. His works strive to create "An electronic town square" where, an exchange of ideas and information can take place which bonds a community in its self-perception. Edward is an Emmy Award Winner (Community Band - our lives in music, 2008) and the recipient of three Telly Awards for his production of “Celino Romero – Guitarra y Pasión, Live in Concert and the Brazilian International Press Award for his role as Producer and Director of Brazil TV, a news magazine show on Brazilian culture, events, and commerce. In August 2005 Edward was honored to receive an invitation to the Latino Producer’s Academy sponsored by NALIP (National Association of Latino Independent Producers) as a documentary fellow. There he developed the Emmy nominated documentary “Survival in the Weave - Kumeyaay." Edward Hermoza Kramer is currently a freelance producer, director, editor and DP based in Southern California.
